DIY Easter Eggs and Springtime Decor that is as Versatile as our Work

DIY Easter Eggs that are Versatile like our work

“Our work is as Versatile as an Egg”

Yes it is!  you would know, if you have been following me for sometime or looked at the Services menu on the site. Also, if you have been following for sometime you would know I wear many hats and always

with a “Coffee in hand”! 😉

The uniqueness of what is done here is the ability to be Versatile just like an Egg can be, to me that is the epitome of creativity and keeping things fresh.

When it comes to my inner creativity and coming up with something new and unique not only for Blogging, Social Media platforms, and Clients, Easter and Springtime make it easy.  Adding Fresh can be as easy as a bouquet of fresh interior flowers, to buying new pillows, or trying fresh premium coffee beans that fill the air of your interiors with a wonderful coffee aroma. The simplest way to add Fresh to your Interiors at this time of year is in your Dining Room; especially if you host Easter Lunch, Brunch, Dinner, or just like to change your interiors with seasonal themes.

On my social media platforms I have been talking about “adding Fresh” to your interiors and ways you can”add Fresh”.  This Easter and Springtime Season I decided to add a favourite combination of Black and White with a Fresh twist to my Dining table.

DIY Easter Eggs that are Versatile like our work

Adding Fresh…

From stencilled Easter Eggs embellished with subtle details,

to name place holders with moss in seed starter pots, finished with moss charger plates.

DIY Easter Eggs that are Versatile like our work

LAUGH…It’s nice to have subtle reminders in our Interiors!

Remember this key word because as much as you think this is a simple and easy project, trying to use flat stencils on a round surface may have you crying instead of laughing!  It takes steady hands and patience.

DIY Easter Eggs that are Versatile like our work

Just BELIEVE..that you can do it!

 Supplies Needed…

  • Eggs
  • Black Paint (prefer matte)
  • Brushes ( paint and stencil)
  • Stencils (your choice)
  • Glue gun and glue sticks
  • Twine
  • Moss
  • Letra Set sticker letters
  • Seed starter pots

I decided to leave out a tutorial of how I assembled these because I think it’s pretty straight forward and wanted to leave it up to you and your creative imagination in order to make something  unique with your own style!

Note* This doesn’t have to be decor for Easter only!  Think of an Event or Party setting and the many ways these eggs can be incorporated.

DIY Easter Eggs that are Versatile like our work

Eggs are not only simple in their Design, there are many ways to use them.

If your still wondering “how Eggs are Versatile”?

Here is a small excerpt from an article called The Versatility of Eggs by: Willie Kiernan

“Eggs have many uses in the kitchen. They can thicken, bind, leaven, glaze or garnish. They can be centre of the plate or they can blend into the background. They are versatile and quick cooking, but perhaps first and foremost, the protein of the egg is both high in quality and low in cost.”

This kind of sums it up here at C2-interiors.com ! lol

Share the love with our Coffee Talk Pillow

February is here!

and what better way to begin this month than

with my current social media motto of…

“Share the love”

and it begins with my personally designed “Coffee Talk Pillows”

that were made as a give back initiative from the Heart!

Share the LOVE with our Coffee Talk Pillow

What is the Coffee Talk Pillow all about?…

well, it was my inner desire to
design and create with a give back initiative in mind!
After losing a dear friend and colleague to a mental health illness and knowing that so many suffer in
silence with some form of a mental health issue I found that I needed a creative outlet in order to do something.

I believe this was my cathartic way to deal with loss that has occurred  in my life.
If you think about the many ways we experience grief, not only through a death of a loved one, but by many other ways such as; a move, a break up, life changes, work, school, friendships, trust, approval, financial situations, retirement, pregnancy etc.. I would say that we all experience mental health challenges in some form. The key for me is how do we stay mentally strong?
according to an article I read recently, it stated that as many as
one in five Canadians will experience a mental health problem or illness in any given year.
Ok!, I want to go back to “keeping it light”- by the way,
that is the name of my handcrafted natural EcoSoya TM candle (visit shop to see).
For those that have been following closely or the newcomers to my world of Interiors and blogging you would know or will soon find out, that I love Coffee! Also, that my interest into the seriousness and intricases of the coffee world came when my husband and I owned and founded a Café in our area where Espresso was a foreign word. It made sense to me that I would work on a home decor item that involved coffee in some shape or form.

Let’s Coffee Talk about..
the Design and Concept

the graphic design that I created was based on the pour of a latte heart which embodies the craftsmanship of a creative and passionate Barista.  It signifies the need to pour your heart out of what ever is troubling you and talk to someone.  Meet them at your favourite Café or over a cup of java in the comfort of your home or theirs.
$10 of each pillow sold will go to Jack.org please see link jack.org

Organization is about

my handmade tassel

this is where I wanted to add a little touch of something extra special.
I wanted a unique detail with subtle reminders that tell someone
“Love you a Latte”, “Be Strong”, “Just Breathe”,
“Wake up and think positive” and that its o.k. to” Espresso Yourself”!
the design of the tassel is also tactile which is used in some forms of therapy.

It’s the Pillow to give or receive with LOVE..

whether you are going through something or have lost someone,
whether your a male, female, girl, boy, sister, brother, Mom, Dad, Family Member, Friend, Colleague etc.

would work with a Pink/Peach toned colour palette and a Blue/Grey toned colour palette.

A Unique DIY Christmas Tree Holiday Craft

A Unique DIY Christmas Tree

Holiday Craft!

It’s December and the most wonderful time of the year!

Yes, it truly is for me.

Christmas is full of childhood memories where it was a special time of the year and my childhood home was filled with laughter, cookie baking, family members dropping in at all hours of the night; playing music and singing.  The biggest and most special memory is of my late father’s nativity scene (also known as a manger scene, it’s the special exhibition, of art objects representing the birth of Jesus, known in Portuguese or Italian as a “Presepio”) which took up half of our home’s basement.  He would set up for days and would pour his heart and soul into every detail.

I truly believe this time of the year with my father as a young girl inspired my passion to be creative!

To honour those memories I keep creating.

In keeping with the motto from my previous Blog ” How to make Holiday Decorating easy”

I have created a simple, but unique craft for those who like to DIY !

A Pine Cone Christmas Tree

It’s the perfect little tree to add to any decor especially when you create it to fit your Interior Style!

This year we kept on trend with a white and light design to add that sense of the very popular Scandinavian Style, that is very trendy in home interiors.  These unique pine cone trees will fit into any decor but, making them yourself and adding your personal touches is part of the fun when being creative.

A Unique DIY Christmas Tree Holiday Craft

Can we say “OH! Dear”…

How cute are these pine cone trees!

with a play on words no type ‘O’, this is the name of my art work featured in pic below.

I  have created and applied this whimsical deer motif on certain interior decor items that are sold in my

e-commerce shop for the holiday season.

  Go ahead have a look!…

while you sip on something warm like our premium coffee blends (coffee for your interiors) that are also sold in the shop.

Another trend of the moment is the deer motif which seems to be everywhere and on everything lately. When I created this art work it was with the intention, of it being a timeless and classic piece because of it’s simplicity and whimsy.  It reminds me of the nostalgic Christmas Santa with a modern flare.

A Unique DIY Christmas Tree Holiday Craft

Fun Facts: Did you know?

  • That the evergreen tree was an ancient symbol of life in the midst of winter.
  • Gifts were associated with St. Nicholas, bishop of Myra (in modern-day Turkey) who became famous for giving gifts to poor children.
  • “Twas the Night Before Christmas”a 1822 poem by Clement Moore

How to make your Holiday Decorating easy?

How to make Holiday Decorating easy?

How to make you Holiday Decorating easy?

Is this is a trick question? you maybe asking. Well, no! trick question here.

The trick is the answer…Hire a Designer or Interior Decorator! ha (adding humour kind of).

It’s a crazy time of year and the thought of decorating and rearranging your interiors may be something you want little Elves to do.

In the past I have had the opportunity to offer this kind of luxury gift to some home owners who just didn’t have the time or skills to decorate their homes for the Holidays.

As an extension of my services I felt compelled to offer Holiday Decorating.

Imagine coming into a space that has been spruced up (yes, with evergreens!)  😉 for the Holiday Season- by a Designer.

This may not be a service you have thought of using before, however…

How to make Holiday Decorating easy?

It is a great gift for yourself or someone that just doesn’t have the time, energy,

or creative ability, to change up their interiors for the Holidays.

Some people enjoy this time of year to decorate for themselves. This is for those who may not have the time or the energy to muster up sourcing unique

greenery and just want something different to happen in their interiors. Whether it’s for a Christmas Party or Event you may be hosting,

the idea of hiring a Designer or Interior Decorator may be the way you “Give Different” this year.

When it comes to using greenery at this time of year some of our favourites are pictured below.

As a Designer and Decorator I am able to source unique decor and greenery which you can’t find

at most nurseries. If you do happen to find specialty greenery they are usually bundled in small batches

that aren’t large enough to make a strong visual impact.

 Holiday Greenery

Taking this Greenery and adding it in unique ways throughout your interior to make a cohesive statement, is one of my specialties.

It’s the ability to make a visual impact and tie in all the Holiday Decor details that make it extra special!

Less is more and when simplifying things sometimes it can be challenging, so knowing where and how to edit even when it comes to

Holiday Decorating is a skill of the trade.

How to make Holiday Decorating easy?

The use of Fresh Greenery not only adds a wonderful seasonal fragrance, but it also can be incorporated with faux greenery as well.

When it comes to Holiday Decorating incorporating natural elements such as pine cones is a classic favourite.

How to make Holiday Decorating easy?

Sourcing unique gift items with a strong emphasis to “Give Different” in my marketing campaign is

where the Holiday Season is trending for me this year.

I’ve always added extra special touches to my interiors and one of a kind elements to make every Holiday that much more memorable and unique.

It’s  all in the little things that can be done that sets one Holiday Decor apart from another.

It is the use of unique ribbon, boxes used for display, and specialty details like simple tags,
and fun tissue paper, that help tie this look featured below all together!

How to make Holiday Decorating easy?

Make your Interiors feel a little warmer this Holiday Season and

keep in mind our motto to “Give Different” this year!

How to make Holiday Decorating easy?

Cheers! to a world of Peace,

Health and Warmth in all Interiors!

Fall in Love with this Pumpkin Spice Latte Recipe

Fall in Love with this delicious Pumpkin Spice Latte Recipe

 Fall…in Love
with this
Pumpkin Spice
Latte Recipe!

Fall has arrived with the splendour of beautiful colour tones and the coolness of the fresh air!

It’s a favourite season here for many reasons it is the season as a designer and decorator that draws out inspiration for warm orange, yellow, and red tones that mother nature shows us. It’s the perfect time of year to invest some time into sprucing up the home for the up and coming winter months by simple investments like an exterior paint job, adding warm touches of colour to your interior neutral base, and or decorating your entrances with fun and creative pumpkin displays.

It is the season for the pumpkin a versatile fruit but, some consider it a vegetable ( staying out of this topic because it is not my area of expertise). The only thing I know is I love the fact that pumpkins are as versatile as what we do here. ! 😉

Using them for fall decor is an absolute must and using them in recipes well lets just say, simply delicious! Did you know that the pumpkins have a blossom that when fried up in batter makes a delicious appetizer or accompaniment to a delectable meal (that’s the foodie in me talking).

So, as a former Café founder/owner I wanted to make sure that I stayed creative in my blogging. Not just with topics of interiors, and creative food styling but, also having the ability to explore my foodie side. To be able to have another outlet of fun and share some creative recipes.

Of course, some recipes will include one of my favourite beverages of choice “Coffee”. Having branded coffee beans of the two preferred drip blends and, our popular espresso blend, that were served at my former Café is a no brainer when it comes to developing and creating beverage recipes. Creating the hashtag #coffeeforyourinteriors for my social media platforms is exactly what the branding of these beans was meant for.

Fall in Love with this delicious Pumpkin Spice Latte Recipe

Most Pumpkin Spice Lattes are made with flavoured syrups which are a more efficient and economical way to produce them in Cafés or Coffee Bars. I also find them too sweet and flat in taste. That being said, this recipe can still be done in a commercial application. This recipe is simple, but like everything taking the time and using quality ingredients helps set one thing apart from another.
Being that Fall is the time of year for colours and pumpkins and wanting to add touches of warmth to your interiors. I found it fitting to share and hope that you… Fall in Love with this Pumpkin Spice Latte Recipe!

Fall in Love with this Delicious Pumpkin Latte Recipe

Pictured below are the ingredients to making this delicious Fall inspired warm beverage.

Note* the Key ingredient is our Premium Espresso Beans that when grounded extract a perfect shot of espresso with nutty notes and a dark chocolate finish.

Ingredients for the “Fall in Love with this Pumpkin Spice Latte Recipe”…

Makes 1 serving
1 cup of milk ( organic our preferred choice)
2 tbsp of Organic Pumpkin Pureé
1/4 tsp of Spice Mixture *see below
1 tbsp Simple Syrup *see below

1 1/4 oz extracted shot of C2-interiors.com Espresso

Fall in Love with this delicious Pumpkin Spice Latte Recipe

The spice mixture consists on a combination of each of the spices

1 tsp  ( Cinnamon, Clove, and Nutmeg)

Fall in Love with this delicious Pumpkin Spice Latte Recipe

Quality ingredients just like quality products make all the difference especially when it comes to food.  Making your own pumpkin pureé would be ideal but, in a pinch as we have done here, we used an organic store bought pumpkin pureé.

Fall in Love with this delicious Pumpkin Spice Latte Recipe

Our Simple Syrup consists of 1 cup of organic sugar to 1 cup of water brought to a simmer until all the sugar is melted. Let cool and add 2 tbsp of organic vanilla extract. Store remainder in refrigerator for other uses or more Pumpkin Spice Lattes.

Note*This recipe is the right combination of sweetness as always you can add more or less syrup as you desire.

Fall in Love with this delicious Pumpkin Spice Latte Recipe

Use whatever form of espresso maker you have to extract your c2-interiors.com espresso shot.

Then combine Milk, Pumpkin Pureé, Spice Mixture, and Simple Syrup.  In this case we frothed our milk using our espresso machine wand. If you do not have access to a espresso machine then warm the ingredients in a pot on your stove top.  Make sure to blend the ingredients well and do not scald the milk.
Fall in Love with this delicious Pumpkin Spice Latte Recipe

Pour the warmed milk mixture into  a cup or our case a glass and add the 1 1/4oz shot of  C2-interiors.com Espresso.

Top  the beverage with a beautiful dollop of real whip cream, sprinkle some spice mixture , and use real cinnamon as stir sticks.

Sit back, Sip slowly and enjoy your seasonally transformed interiors while you
