Let’s Get Creative with our Patchwork Home Decor Egg Accessories

IMG_3018
Just in time for your Easter and your Spring Interior Decorating!

If you follow us on Instagram you would know that our Profile tag line reads “Our Interior Work is as Versatile as an Egg”

So in keeping with our versatility and the constant battle to be creative in our Interiors, we decided that it is the perfect time of the year to create and recycle something special for your Easter Interior Decorating.

When Spring is the time to spruce up your Interiors and in our part of the world your Exteriors (after a long cold harsh winter), we are giving you a little fun adult craft project (yes, more to do!).  Kids could definitely be  involved in this project as ours were but, we do not recommend small children use HOT glue gun.

Are these Patchwork Home Decor Eggs Versatile? Oh, Yeah!

They add a whimsical touch to any table setting or interior decor setting that you may want to use them in.

The best part is you can custom make them to suit your Interior Style!  (Note* just because it is an Egg doesn’t mean that these are only suited for Easter and Spring Decor remember… Eggs are Versatile!).  Use them all year long in different Interior arrangements and settings.

Are they easy to Make?  Well, you be the judge.

Supplies needed and Simple Instructions enclosed below…

Firstly, your supplies:

  1. Foam Eggs (found at your local craft store)
  2. Glue (that works with fabric)
  3. Bowl and small paint brush for Glue
  4. Glue Gun + Glue sticks
  5. Fabric

Secondly, Assembly Process:

    1. Cut your fabric (we used Pinking Shears  (*not shown) to create a zig zag effect into various sized squares this will help you create that textured patchwork style and help fabric not fray)
    2. We used white fabric glue to adhere larger squares on the bottom to cover as much of the foam eggs as possible (see pic below)
    3. Then used glue gun to adhere smaller cut squared fabric on top (this made it easier as the fabric was getting bulkier.

            4.  We then added some detail like a cross-stitch with some natural string. Pieces of string were cut and then hot glued on to look like cross-stitch this adds another creative detail to help finish off the style.

Now that wasn’t so hard!  Was it?

  1. Decoration can be life-enhancing. It can make dinner parties more fun, kids happier, relaxing easier, talks more intimate, guests at ease. And to think, decorating is often considered frivolous. Making a charmed and happy home is a noble endeavor.
