When my beautiful niece asked me to be her M.O.H not only was I honoured but, my head went into Bridal Shower Event and Planning excitement mode because…
1. “they say” the duties of a M.O.H is to plan and host the Bridal Shower.
2. We do it all here! Remember “Our Interior Work is as Versatile as an Egg” like Event Design, Event Planning, Custom Props and Florals.
The planning began with a lot of dings on the phone and pics of inspirational ideas! Nowadays, Ideas are flying out of Pinterest and right into Interiors of Homes and Events. Finding the right quote for a chalk board or inspiration for that room makeover has never been so easy! We have found that one of the best ways to work with a client on a project is to set up a private collaborative board on Pinterest. We love using Pinterest for this! Here you can organize inspirational ideas, and pictures of ideas you would like to incorporate as part of your projects, plans, or interior layouts. Whether it’s a Home your renovating or building, or in this case an Event that your planning, it is great to have this Pinterest app to use as a tool. To be honest it is just a tool we use to get the clients creative juices flowing. It is great to be inspired by others work, but as a Designer and Creative Person it’s better to create your own work. Being inspired by others is fine but, creating and making things your own is better. A good example of this came when we found ideas for our bridal shower games. We took these ideas and added our own personal touches to reflect the theme of this event. This definitely helped to make it one of a kind.
The number one way to get the creative juices flowing for ideas especially in the Event world is to come up with a theme or a tag line (a quote in this case), this will set the tone for the Event and the Event Interiors. Here our tag line was “Where Flowers Bloom So Does Love” this would mean of course, we would use Florals as a major part of the Event.
Then everything else fell into place as we scouted and sourced for all the details…
sourcing outdoor bird cages for the table centre pieces had us driving around like we were in the Indy 500 going from one store location to another. As well as the detail of custom made moss squares which adorned the bird cages, all the fresh and faux florals used throughout, the Chiavari chairs that were blush pink, …
to the Floral Cake (by Patisserie V. Marie) detail which matched the Event Decor beautifully, as did the custom made desserts by the brides future sister in law that were all displayed on a vintage buffet table. This dessert table was adorned with fresh Ivy along with our custom dessert chalk board signage. All these details truly created the feel of a Floral Garden and set the tone for this Bridal Shower Event.
The fact that the Event was going to be held indoors at The Manor by PeterandPauls.com which is a beautiful golf and Events venue gave us a creative challenge in “How to transform the interior space into a Floral Garden oasis?”
The pièce de ré·sis·tance was the garden arch set up for guests to walk through as they entered, complete with birds and outdoor sounds playing in the back ground. “Where are the birds” someone asked? Lol, we took care of that detail!
Notice that I have been stating “we” in this blog because this beautiful Bride to be was involved every step of the way! (She doesn’t like surprises! Lol) but, she was super surprised to see the outcome of all details and work that went into making this a memorable and fun day!
Wishing her a lifetime of Floral Happiness!
To make your event extra special no detail is too small to be overlooked!
